 WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: 

Learn how to make the super healthy Korean side dish; Kimchi, fermented cabbage rubbed with chili, vegetables and seasoning, good for your health and gut.

1. How to prepare the cabbage, you will learn how to soak it in salt water, which will drain the water of the cabbage, leaving it ready to mix with the seasoning vegetables and fermentation.

2. How to prepare the vegetables, how to wash and cut properly

3. Seasoning & spices - learn everything about what seasoning and spices can be used and also substitutes for making a vegan kimchi as opposed to traditional kimchi. Where to shop for the local ingredients.

Finally, you’ll learn how to rub the cabbage with the vegetable/seasoning mix and how to properly prepare the kimchi for fermentation. 


At the beginning of the class, you will get to taste the ready to ear vegan and non-vegan kimchi (if desired), so you can taste the difference and so you know what taste to aim for.

All ingredients for this class will be provided along with a recipe card.

  • A 430g jar of your vegan kimchi on the day

  • Including light Kimchi lunch:  Kimchi (as well as one other fermented item) with rice + ginger soda (fermented with ginger) made by Bali Fermented Kitchen.
